airBeam Structural Inflatables
Below you will see the main categories for our products and potential product range. Just click onto the heading to go and look at the subjects that interest you. Inevitably some of the products themselves cross the dividing line between each category. Happy hunting!

Aeronautical - includes radio controlled airplanes, radio control blimp and has many airplane pictures. It has real ufo pictures of a rc flying saucer, (one of our own personal flying saucers) taken during the day and at night. It has aerial photos uk taken from remote controlled blimps or aerodynamic balloons. Magnus Effect or Flettner Rotors, which harness the wind, are there, including an inflatable contra-rotating radio controlled helicopter project. It includes Bird Scaring and Crop Spraying systems, as well as a human powered helicopter design.
Amphi-Kiting - is our generic term for all power kites uk. It includes a lot of kite history including kite boarding, kite surfing, kite sailing, kite buggying, snow kiting and other forms of power kiting that we have been involved in from the outset. It includes a record of many unique events in the early days of the sport, including the Channel Crossing and photos of stunt kites, photos of kite boarding and sailing. This site is full of photos of the sport and has been split into its own dedicated site, but you can see a small synopsis of it here. You can access either site from the other
Architecture - designs for HIGH STRENGTH STRUCTURAL inflatable replacements for steel buildings as well as temporary structures, such as swimming pool covers and corporate hospitality marquees and tents. It includes tennis sports halls removable cover design and a ‘heartbeat’ exhibition or conference hall. Some of the products have designed and built by us, but others are architectural designs by famous architects in joint designs with us for using the great strength to weight advantages of airBeams, as well as their packability and transport advantages
Marine - some of the most advanced marine concepts in the world, including our Persuader inflatable rigid boat. We have sailboats which are totally inflated and designs for advanced concept inland waterway cargo vessels and lighters. We have oil slick and harbour protection high-pressure inflatable designs. airBeam products have really unique advantages over competitive products manufactured from conventional techniques. They have all the advantages of ordinary inflatables, but the added advantages of superb strength to weight ratio, the ability to absorb energy without distortion and a real reduction in weight compared to any other method of construction
Military - advanced product design in marine, land and air technology, using high strength structural inflatables. Bridge structure designs, fascines, radio controlled airplanes, sonar buoy gliding systems, remotely controlled sailing systems, UMA ship borne capturing system, decoy systems, and ship towing projects. Wherever high strength to weight, small package size, easy and quick deployment is desired, airBeams fit the bill and this is as relevant to Navy, Army and Air Force branches, but is especially so for Special Forces. Have a look at what has been done already with high-pressure airBeams and what could be done in the future
Rescue - airBeams the high-pressure inflatables are a fundamental asset for designs in alleviating the aftermath of natural disasters ranging from earthquakes to hurricanes and man-made disasters such as marine oil spillage and ferry water ingress. It has been a special subject of our Research and Development and again encompasses land, water and air products. The difference it would make to those subject to an earthquake, a volcanic eruption, an oilspill, Roll on/Roll off ferry incident, a tornado or any other natural disaster is obvious if an easily transported, quickly and automatically deployed product was available. Mostly this would be without the need of specialist knowledge and, in some cases, the capability is there of dropping from the air to be deployed as the products descends to those needing rescue.
Structural - wherever more traditional structural elements are used and a lighter, more packable product is required, such as in bridge structure designs and architectural columns, airBeams, the high-pressure structural inflatables, can be substituted. This is where you can find out a lot about WHY airBeamsare so suitable for many products. We discuss some material technology, Force/reaction diagrams and give our opinion as to why airBeamsare the future fabrication/manufacturing technology for the 21st Century wherever lightweight, easily transportable and tough products are required.
